Conhecimento prévio é uma estratégia de leitura que leva em conta o conhecimento prévio do leitor. Para praticá-la é importante: 1. Ler o título e vê o que  sabe sobre ele; 2. Se o título não ajudar, veja se existe  informação abaixo do texto, resumo,etc; 3. Atentar para data e  fonte do texto para ver se é  atual e qual origem possui( livro, revista ou jornal ); 4. Se há  gráfico que  forneça alguma ideia para que seu conhecimento prévio seja despertado.

Background knowledge is a reading strategy that takes into account the reader's prior knowledge. To practice it it is important to: 1. Read the title and see what you know about it; 2. If the title does not help, see if there is information below the text, summary, etc; 3. Pay attention to the date and source of the text to see if it is current and what source it has (book, magazine or newspaper); 4.
